1. Who is your classmate, what is the component category, what is the name of the choice?

My choice was compare the inland area(s) of California. Antonio and I both used Bakersfield as an inland area.

2. What is something similar this classmate said about the choice?

We both had similar comments about the weather being hot in Bakersfield. We both also commented on the population of Bakersfield.

3. What is something different this classmate said about the choice?

We both acknowledged that Bakersfield was a major producer of certain foods, but Antonio brought up petroleum that was new to me. In describing the stereotypes of Bakersfield, he mentioned that some might have the assumption that you bake in Bakersfield.

4. How would you relate this to Freire's ideas regarding dialogue? For example, you went in thinking one idea; your classmate had a different idea. What new idea emerged from this process?

Overall, I believe we had very similar thoughts regarding Bakersfield. Antonio mentioned he lived there for over a year, so that gave him a better understanding about the culture in this inland area. Where I have always driven past Bakersfield and saw nothing but open land.
